Mediterranean Cruises

May 28, 2009 on 3:23 pm | In Cruises | 1 Comment

The Mediterranean may not be the first place you would consider for a crewed charter yacht.  But, on the Turkish Rivera there is a coastal  town with cosmopolitan charms called Marmaris, which just twenty years ago was a small fishing village.  Today they have a beautiful harbor boasting of several yachts that are available to charter.  Hiring one of the many Mediterranian cruises available easily venture out into the majestic Mediterranean Sea and explore the many islands, bays and historical villages.

Aboard your luxury yacht charter you will have spectacular views of the clear blue skies and tempting azure waters.  It is recommended to hire a crewed yacht charter as you will have a captain and crew that are familiar with the local waters.  You will also enjoy international cuisine prepared by your own personal chef.  Just imagine, relaxing on the Mediterranean, sitting on the deck with gorgeous views in every direction and having your dinner served to you on the outdoor dining table.  Some of the most elegantly appointed and well built yachts in the world are harbored on the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea.

Many of these yachts come complete with all the gear you may need for various water activities.  You could anchor off some of the islands and secluded bays and do catamaran trips, parasailing, water skiing, sailing, and scuba diving.  The waters of the Mediterranean are warm and inviting.  If you like to find underwater treasure this is the place to explore.

Kemer Kekova Yacht Cruises

Then, you might also think about Kemer Kekova Yacht Cruises, another turkey cruise line that is deemed top of the line. A great consideration is taking a cruise around Croatia, a magnificent, French island and the fourth largest in the Mediterranean. For an exceptional yacht holiday, you will fall in love with the area’s rugged mountains, charming fishing villages, and virgin land that is gorgeous.

With Kemer Keova Yacht Cruises, you have more than 600 miles of coastline just waiting to be discovered. Although there are weeklong cruises, we strongly recommend you take a full two weeks to take everything in. Of course, if you find you only have a week for this type of adventure, then spending time around Sardinia or Corsica would be perfect.

Before booking your trip it is always wise to read personal testimonies online from travelers that may have used one of the Marmaris yacht charters.  These online sites will more than likely have resumes of the crew you will hire as well.  You may want to do some research on the area and let your captain know what activities you may want to do or sites you may want to see.  At that time you can let the captain know if you have any special food needs or limitations.  This will make your trip at sea more enjoyable, comfortable and memorable.

Air Travel Tips That Can Help You Survive The Trip When Traveling With A Baby

May 27, 2009 on 8:39 am | In Airline Travel | No Comments

Traveling with an infant can be disconcertingly stessful. Carrying your baby around crowded airports and terminals with some additional baggage in tow is not much fun. The fact that airports and terminals are like incubators for different types of illnesses is not comforting either. Minimize your baby’s exposure to the airport crowd and make your life less stressful there are ways to minimize your baby’s exposure to the airport crowd and make your life less stressful. To help you keep your calm and enjoy the trip with you little one, here are some air travel tips for you.

Be Prepared With Your Air Travel Survival Kit

Be prepared for almost anything as babies are vey unpredictable. Pack an air travel survival kit. Your air travel survival kit should contain some baby clothes, diapers, wipes, blankets, plastic bags for dirty diapers and other baby supplies. Consider packing an extra shirt for you just in case you need one.

Take The Late Night Flight

Most travelers find night air travel is generally less stressful compared to day air travel. Avoid a lot of hustle and bustle of airports by traveling during the night when airports are less populated. You will find traveling at night is less stressful for you and your baby. Generally speaking most babies are more settle at night so you can breathe a sigh of relief. Unless your baby is feeling uncomfortable about something, there is a big chance that he or she will sleep through the flight. A little known bit of information is that most airline companies give air travel discounts for night flights. If you are fortunate, you can get as much as 50% off on the regular day time air travel fare. Now that is real value for your money.

Do Not Ignore the Advantage of Pre-boarding

Most airlines in the country offer free boarding to parents who are traveling with infants and little children. Appreciate this offer and board the plane ahead of the rest of the passengers. This should give a couple extra minutes to get settled in the aircraft before the rest of the passengers start filling the place up and making a lot of noise.

Turn On Your Auto Ignore Button

Even though you would like to keep your baby quiet throughougt the trip, your baby may wake up and make a fuss. If this happens and people start looking at you glaringly, just turn on your auto ignore button and pretend that they are not there. Cheap Air Travel Video Compilations

Cheap Airfares Help Make Affordable Vacations

May 19, 2009 on 10:54 pm | In Airline Travel | No Comments

air tickets

Whether you are planning for that dream vacation for the family, making arrangements to see loved ones for the holidays or a special occasion, or making preparations for a business trip, looking for cheap airfares is always high on the priority list anytime people need to travel by air. No one wants to spend more money than is needed to get to their destination. Often the ability to secure discount airline tickets can really make or break a trip.

Most people lose interest in planning for even cheap vacations if they are going to end up being strapped for cash once they get to their destination. Cheaper fares can make a huge difference in the travel budget, both for the business traveler and for those traveling for pleasure. For some people, finding cheap flights makes a trip possible that would otherwise have been out of the question. For others, a discount on the flight means they can indulge themselves a bit and enjoy some pampering while away.

With the way that gas prices have shot up recently, some travelers who enjoy winding their way cross-country in the car are discovering that cheap airfares can actually make more sense than driving to their destination. But, the increases in fuel costs have also pushed up the rates on plane fares, which as in turn has made it even harder to find those elusive discount airline tickets.

For the most part, the cheaper fares are most abundant when booking your travel early. But, you should be careful not to book too early. Recently, travel experts have stated that booking airline tickets more than six months in advance can end up costing you more than if you wait for that six-month mark. Booking three to six months before your trip will usually give you the most options and the best airfare deals.

It should come as no surprise that the internet is one of the best places to look for and secure the best deals for your travel needs. While there are many different websites that collect and display comparisons of airfare costs from a number of different airlines, such as Expedia and Travelocity, even these sites do not have all of the discount flight information.

There are some airlines, such as the popular discount airline Southwest, that do not list any of their flight information on other travel websites. In addition, many of the airlines only show their best fares, or special web-only discount airfare rates, on their own websites and not on the travel websites. Because of this, it is a good idea to take the time to go to the web sites of the different carriers that cover your departure and arrival cities.

Sometimes, the best way to locate cheap airfares is by looking at flying into smaller airports that are still in the vicinity of your final destination. For example, while everyone automatically thinks of flying into LAX if they are headed for Los Angeles, there are several smaller and less congested airfields located less than an hour away. Many times these smaller airports are closer to where you are headed and are easier to get in and out of, plus you might have a better chance of finding cheaper flights into them.

Airport Hotels Are Ideal For Extending Your Holidays

May 12, 2009 on 2:05 pm | In Airline Travel | No Comments

With so much stress at the office nowadays, many people like to take short breaks or perhaps long weekends to get away from it all. Their aim is to get as much relaxation possible in these few days of their break.

However, preparing for the holiday, and reaching the airport on time could give a stressful start to a well planned short break. So what most short break travellers do while heading for their destination is to get all their holiday gear, and book into an airport hotel the night before their flight.

You have to head to the airport on the night before the flight so that you needn’t worry about traffic jams on the day of your departure. It is up to you to relax with a relaxing meal at the restaurant, drink a few drinks at the bar or take a dip in the pool.Other options could include visiting the hotel spa or watching a movie in the room.

This way, you tend to feel that the holidays have already started. Moreover, you can have a good night’s sleep as you need not worry about hurrying through traffic, and reaching the flight on time the next morning.

Moreover, you can get up in the morning relaxed in the knowledge that the airport is just round the corner, and happy that you have no preparing breakfast to do as you have it waiting for you.You can take the free shuttle provided by the hotel to the airport terminal and coolly check-in for your flight. You can also take your car to the airport and leave it at the long term car park until you return from your short break.

On returning from your short break, you can either drive your car back home or take a cab. This is a much better way to start your break than having to rush to the airport from home on the morning of the flight.

Passenger Surveys – Delivering Real Benefits

May 7, 2009 on 10:37 am | In Airline Travel | No Comments

Public transport operators who already use passenger surveys may not fully appreciate the multiple benefits that surveys can bring. Surveys provide an efficient method for conducting market research that will then help identify passenger dissatisfaction and they are also an ideal tool for measuring the effects of any improvements that have been implemented and can help promote the new initiatives.

Establishing a Starting Point

When embarking on any change management programme it is always good practice to establish a base line before any changes are made. This baseline survey can serve four purposes, it will:-

  • allow the proper targeting of investment
  • allow measurement of the effect of change
  • assist in the moral of those implementing change
  • ensure that new issues are kept separate from the original plan and budget

Targeting Investment

There are many areas of any public transport system that can cause passenger dissatisfaction all of which need to be monitored to ensure that the service being provided meets, and where possible, exceeds, performance level targets.

Issues that can be of concern to passenger include:-

  • safety and security
  • punctuality
  • fares and ticket types
  • capacity and overcrowding
  • quality and design of vehicle
  • cleanliness
  • facilities at stations and terminals
  • facilities for passengers with disabilities

Often limited resources and budgets means that investment needs to be carefully planned and properly targeted.

Passenger surveys can be used to canvas the customers to find out what the main issues are. Through the analysis of passenger feedback the operator will be able to ensure that their improvement and investment plans are in line with passenger demands and concerns. Issues can be classified into high and low priority, as well as long and short term plans.

It may take many years for capital investment to take effect such as the building of new terminals, runways, laying new track or upgrading air traffic control or rail signalling equipment. However, the initial survey is also likely to identify some high profile areas where solutions can be implemented almost immediately and at an affordable cost.

Measuring Change

From having established a comprehensive programme from an initial survey the objectives for running periodic surveys are twofold.

One objective will be to ensure that any implemented changes and initiatives have been effective towards addressing passenger issues. A second objective will be to promote and advertise the initiatives that have been implemented and also educate and inform passengers of ongoing improvements and future plans.

Passengers may be more positive if they can see that improvements have been made and more accepting of outstanding problems if they know that problems have been recognised and are in the process of being addressed.

Keeping Moral

Those implementing change can often develop a siege mentality. It can take time for changes to take effect and for any improvements to be noticed by the passengers.

By monitoring passenger opinion and measuring the results against earlier surveys a successful change programme should see passenger issues change over time, some issues that were problems will no longer be raised.

Passengers will be slow to appreciate any progress and those working implementing change can become demoralised with criticism from what is often a very negative public. It is essential that a team implementing change can see clearly the effects of their efforts.

Identifying New and Old

In any long term change management programme issues can change over time. Events can happen that make what was important, no longer important and what wasn’t an issue, an issue.

A baseline survey will make sure that the passengers concerns are documented chronologically. The needs of passengers is in constant flux, individual requirements change, low cost budget carriers now compete directly with luxury travel and even from the same sets of people there is a clear demand for both depending on whether their travel is for business or pleasure. Regular surveys will allow changes in passenger attitudes to be monitored.

Online Surveys Make It Easy

Online surveys can reach a broad cross section of any travelling public. They are quick and easy to design and implement and they provide feedback in a format that is ready for detailed analysis. Because online surveys are low cost and flexible it is practical to publish multiple surveys aimed at specific groups such as the disabled passenger, the business traveller and single parents travelling with children.

Through online passenger surveys the operators can collate valuable market research data and demonstrate their pro-active commitment to passenger satisfaction.

Passengers benefit by having a forum to raise issues and through regular surveys will begin to appreciate that their concerns are acknowledged and the operator is committed to investing and improving the service. The following are links to samples of Passenger Surveys

What Are The Benefits of Charter Air Travel?

May 7, 2009 on 10:36 am | In Aviation, Airplanes | No Comments

charter air travel

As people try to do more and more in less and less time, they are looking to find the quickest route from point A to point B. Air travel fills this bill for many people and continues to be a popular method of travel, even with the rising cost of airplane fares. At the same time, people are also becoming increasingly frustrated with the delays and complications that have arisen in commercial air travel. As a result, many people are looking into charter air travel as a way to get where they need to go as quickly and easily as possible.

Those who use chartered air travel services enjoy a number of benefits that are simply not available to those who book their air tickets with the traditional, public air carriers. Some of these benefits include flexibility of schedule, improvement of conditions both before and during the flight, as well as after the flight, and significant savings of time and money.

While charter air travel tends to be more expensive and you won’t find many opportunities to take advantage of discount airfare rates, the savings in time often equates to a huge savings in money. These days, when “time means money” to busy executives and their companies, chartered flights are increasingly becoming the preferred mode of transportation.

For business travelers who fly frequently, a significant amount of time is squandered waiting in lines to check in at major airports and going through the hassles of security, and then simply waiting to board the plane. When flying commercially, there is simply no way to avoid the time spent at the airport. But chartered air travel is a different story.

For executives who are able to take advantage of chartered air travel, they can eliminate the time-wasting inefficiencies of commercial air fare travel. They can skip the long check-in lines and they can avoid the hassle of dragging their bags to screening afterwards. They can laugh at the memory of standing in winding lines to go through security or customs, with shoes in hand and laptops dragging out of their protective cases.

Instead, with air tickets for their chartered flight, they can be dropped-off practically at the foot of the ramp to the plane, quickly board and settle in, and be airborne minutes later. Most often, instead of fighting traffic to get to the major airport that might be across town, they can take their flights from small, local, convenient airfields, often just minutes from their home or office.

Once aboard a chartered flight, they usually find airline travel to be much better, as they can spread out and work in peace and quiet, without strangers climbing over them or children wailing in the background, all the while having the convenience of competent flight attendants to see to their needs. Executives who are able to take advantage of charter air tickets inevitably arrive at their business meetings more relaxed, energized, alert and productive than those who had to survive the daunting rigors of commercial travel.

Depending on the distance that needs to be covered, often a charter air travel trip can allow an executive to get on the plane in the morning, attend a mid-day meeting, and be home in time for dinner, often feeling good about how much was accomplished. Comparatively, flying on a commercial airline for the same purpose could end up taking the executive away from the office and family for two days instead, all the while leaving him tired and frustrated.

Travel to North Cyprus

May 5, 2009 on 11:20 am | In Airline Travel | No Comments

It is not easy to find information on flights to North Cyprus because non of the major airlines fly there.  Another problem is that airlines that do fly there do not use the reservation systems in the same way that other airlines use them and it is not listed in many directories.Travel agents can not find any reference to North Cyprus in their manuals or booking systems.

This is because the United Nations has imposed sanctions on North Cyprus since the war with Southern Cyprus. It is easy to get to North Cyprus and flights are generally pretty full.

Currently there are about about 40 flights a week from UK to North Cyprus and the number increases during the school holidays.  All flights have to stop in Turkey en-route which adds about an hour to the journey time but through passengers stay on the aircraft. Although prices start at £150 return very few seats are available at these fares and so they sell very quickly.  Usually the price is about £250 return low season and £350 high season.

Another way of getting there is on Turkish Airlines but you will need to change aircraft at Istanbul. Prices are similar to the direct flights

The roads in North Cyprus are very quiet except when you get near the towns of Lefkosa (Nicosia), Girne (Kyrenia) and Magusa (Famagusta) which have all the usual traffic jams. Car Hire in North Cyprus is cheap and the prices, depending on season are between £11 and £16 per day for a car for 4 persons. There is much to see on the island and a hire car is the best way of seeing it.

This article is written by Transit Management Ltd For more information about flights to North Cyprus contact their North Cyprus department .
